Hunting the Northern Lights from the ocean is an amazing experience; sail away from the coastline of Reykjavik and see the Aurora Borealis out on the North-Atlantic Ocean.
Viewing the northern lights from sea with beautiful mountains and the city lights in the background is something you’ll never forget. Within only 15-30 minutes, you will be far enough from the city lights for perfect viewing of the Auroras.
The Northern Lights are among the premier reasons to visit Iceland, but nature’s spectacular electromagnetic light-show doesn’t always want to be seen and that’s where organised tours come into their own.
The northern lights are a visual treat and result from the earth’s atmosphere protecting us from all the solar wind out in space that would otherwise prove deadly. The earth’s magnetic field pushes the solar particles to the north and the south and Iceland is in a prime location to enjoy the show.
When the Northern Lights forecast looks good - but it is too windy to go out at sea – customers will be taken out for a Northern Lights tour on a bus and they will then also have a chance to join our boat tour at the next available date (regardless of whether they saw the lights on the bus or not).
If you are not happy with this arrangement and do not wish to join the bus tour, you are entitled to a full refund - or you can join our boat tour at the next available date!
